The violations that I saw only concern threats from Ukraine, there were attempts to attack us, we saw shelling. At the voting itself, I did not see any violations: the ballot boxes were sealed, the booths were in place. [Translated from Russian] (2023-08-25)

The German Thomas Röper emphasized that the inhabitants of the Kherson region are opposed to the Kyiv regime due to the constant destruction of peaceful infrastructure. [Translated from Russian] (2023-08-25)

I was at the referendum last year, where there was a rush, but then everything was well organized. Now there was more time, everything was planned. Now we see how it is all organized, we were at the polling stations, everything is ready there. The most interesting day will be voting day, of course, but from the organizational point of view there is nothing to complain about. [Translated from Russian] (2023-12-16)

Corresponding elections

From 23 to 27 September 2022, the Russian forces organised a sham election process - pseudo-referendum as a pretext for the formal annexation of the regions of occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson by Russia. The annexation of the four regions was announced on 30 September 2022.
From 8 to 10 September 2023, the Russian forces organised widely condemned regional and municipal elections in the regions of occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson. The results were largely rejected by the international community, with North Korea and Syria being the only ones to explicitly recognise them.
