Wilfried Bergmann has been a board member of the German-Russian forum "Petersburger Dialog" since 2008, where he heads the "Legal Cooperation" program and co-chairs a working group on Education and Science. He is also a member of the Senate of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. From 1997 to 2010 he was the Deputy General Secretary of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
