Steffen Kotré has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017, reelected in 2021. In 2014 he became a consultant for the economy and energy of the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) / Alternative for Germany parliamentary group in Brandenburg. In Bundestag, he is a member of the Committee on Climate Protection and Energy, a substitute member of the Foreign Committee and Vice-Chair of the German-South Caucasian Parliamentary Group. Before joining the AfD, Steffen Kotré was a member of the FDP. He is also a member of the Corps Berlin fraternity (Studentenverbindung).
