Miroslavs Mitrofanovs is a Latvian journalist and politician. He is a former MEP (2018-2019) and former Member of the 7th and 9th Saeima. For many years he has been involved in numerous pro-Kremlin activities in Latvia and beyond. Since 2010 he has been Director of the Institute of Russian Cultural Heritage of Latvia. In the  2020 Riga City Council elections, he will run for the position of mayor of the capital from the Latvian Russian Union.
