Aleksandar Šešelj has been a member of the National Assembly of Serbia and  a member of Serbia's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) since 2017. Aleksandar Šešelj is a member of the PACE committee on social affairs, health, and sustainable development and an alternate member of the committee on culture, science, education, and media. He is the son of the Serbian Radical Party leader Vojislav Šešelj.

On 29 July 2018, Cambodia held general elections to elect 125 members of the National Assembly, the lower house of the Parliament of Cambodia.
