Jordi Xuclà i Costa is a Catalan lawyer and politician, leader of the political group Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. From March 2000 to January 2004 he was a member of the Senate of Spain. From March 2004 to March 2019 - a member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain. From June 2008 to June 2019 he was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). In March 2017, he traveled to Syria – together with Pedro Agramunt – to meet with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad backed by Russia.
