Jérôme Lambert is a member of the National Assembly of the French Parliament since 1986. He was the youngest member of the Parliament when first elected at the age of 28 and since 2017 he has held the record for seniority. Currently, he is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the National Assembly. Lambert is also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where he has been since 2017 a member of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons and the Sub-Committee on the Rights of Minorities.
