Gianluca Savoini is the President of the Lombardy-Russia Cultural Association that promotes the Kremlin’s policies. Savoini took part in the politically biased electoral monitoring mission at the Russian regional elections in September 2017. In the summer of 2018, there was a series of journalistic inquiries, according to which Gianluca Savoini was allegedly involved in a commercial deal between Russian and Italian companies that would lead to illegal financing of Italian politicians, especially from the League.
