Peter Schulze

Peter W. Schulze was a German political scientist.  He was a private lecturer of Political Sciences, International Relations and Russian Studies at the Georg August University of Goettingen. He was Director of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in the Russian Federation and an Honorary Professor of the University Rostov-on-the Don, Russian Federation. Since 2003 he has been involved in academic research and acting as a consultant to deputies and experts at the German Bundestag. In 2016, Schulze co-founded the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute think-tank with Vladimir Yakunin.

Schulze died in 2020, after a serious illness.

In July 2019, the Moscow City Election Commission (MCEC) refused to register the overwhelming majority of independent opposition candidates for the elections to the Moscow City Duma. This provoked mass protests in Moscow and undermined the legitimacy of the elections.
