Michel Voisin is a French politician, a member successively of the Union for French Democracy (UDF), of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) then of the Republicans (LR). From June 1988 to June 2017 he was a member of the French National Assembly. He was a Regional Councillor of Rhône-Alpes from 2004 to 2016 and the Mayor of Replonges from 1983 to 2014.

In their turn, Ukrainian authorities warned that any participation in the electoral process in Crimea would be illegal.
