Tatjana Ždanoka is a member of European Parliament from Latvia who co-chairs the Latvian Russian Union. She has been attempting to discredit Latvia for its integration policies towards the Russian-speaking minority and promoting Russian interpretations of contemporary history. Thus, in 2019, State Security Service launched a criminal procedure over incitement to ethnic hatred for Ždanoka's comparison of Russian speakers in Latvia to Jews prior the WW II.
